3x3 EYES MAILING LIST

 Welcome to the 3x3 Eyes Mailing List!  This list is for the discussion
 of 3x3 Eyes, the Japanese anime and comic series.  Other series by 
 creator Yuzo Takada, such as Blue Seed and Bannou Bunka Neko Musume, 
 are occasionally discussed as well.  You may want to send a short 
 introduction  to the list after you join.  We're a friendly group and 
 are always glad to welcome new fans.

 There you can find the latest list announcements, a form for easily 
 subscribing and unsubscribing, and a fully searchable archive of list 
 messages.

SUBSCRIBING AND UNSUBSCRIBING
=============================

 The easiest way to subscribe or unsubscribe to a list is to use the 
 WWW form on the mailing list home page mentioned above.  Subscription 
 requests can also be made by email.  There are two addresses for 
 administration requests.
 
     normal list:  3x3eyes-request@sazan.net
     digest list:  3x3eyes-digest-request@sazan.net
 
 To subscribe or unsubscribe at your current address, send a message to
 the appropriate address with the word "subscribe" or "unsubscribe" (no
 quotes) in the body of the message.  For more detailed instructions, 
 email one of the addresses with the word "help" in the Subject (not 
 body) of the message.

POSTING TO THE LIST
===================

 To post a message that will be seen by all other subscribers, send it 
 to the following address:

     3x3eyes@sazan.net

 It does not matter if you are subscribed to the normal list or the 
 digest version; all messages should be sent to the address above.  
 (Do NOT send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to this address.  Use one 
 of the -request addresses mentioned in the previous section.)

 When responding to a message posted to the list, by default the 
 response is sent only to the original sender and not to the whole 
 list.  This is to avoid the embarrassing situation where a private 
 response is accidentally sent to everyone.  To send a reply to all 
 subscribers, use the "Reply to All" feature of your mail software, or 
 change the "To:" address of your reply to the address given above.

LIST ETIQUETTE
==============

 Here are some general guidelines that you should consider before 
 posting to the mailing list.

 Posts to the list should be related to 3x3 Eyes.  Please do not post 
 chain letters, virus warnings, and so forth.  Some off-topic posts 
 will be tolerated if they are of interest to anime and manga fans, but
 try not to stray too far from the subject of the list.  Only the list 
 admins are allowed to do that. ^_^;;  Also, avoid sending binary files
 to the list.

 Many answers to Frequently Asked Questions can be found there.

 Please be careful about posting spoilers to the list.  Any part of the
 3x3 Eyes story that has not been animated *and* which might spoil the 
 enjoyment of someone if they learned about it too soon is considered a
 spoiler.  In other words, that a character name Haan exists is not a 
 spoiler, but what happens to Haan in manga vol. 28 is.  If you think 
 your post might be a spoiler, be sure to put the word "SPOILER" in the
 subject line or at the beginning of the message, and include a few 
 blank lines before and after the spoiler text.  Also mention the topic
 of the spoiler (ex. "possible SPOILER: manga v.30 questions").  When 
 in doubt, it is always safe to include a spoiler warning.

 When responding to a message, please only include the relevant parts 
 of the previous message, not the entire thing.  This is especially 
 important for those subscribed to the digest list, since the original 
 message can be very long.

 Finally, please be nice to your fellow subscribers.  The 3x3 Eyes 
 Mailing List has managed to remain free of flame wars, and we would 
 like to keep it that way.  It is OK to disagree with someone, just be 
 considerate.

HISTORY
=======

 The idea for the 3x3 Eyes Mailing List came from Fred Gallagher, and 
 the list was originally set up by Chae An on his best.com account.  
 David Park was brought in to raise the number of list administrators 
 to three (the magic number), and the list opened to the public on June
 3, 1996.  When Chae decided to drop his best.com account, the list 
 migrated to its current location at sazan.net.  The new list opened on
 November 13, 1998.  In April 1999, sazan.net moved to a new web host, 
 and the mailing list software changed from majordomo to SmartList.
